SEA Games is a sporting event that is followed by 11 countries in Southeast Asia namely Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam. The first time was held on 12 to 17 December 1959 in Bangkok, Thailand. SEA Games held every two years. This time will be held in Indonesia on 11 to 22 November 2011. A total of 43 sports to be contested later.
SEA Games in Indonesia which is the 26th event will be held in two cities, Jakarta and Palembang. Meanwhile, Indonesia SEA Games Organizing Committee has launched the official mascot for the 2011 SEA Games, Modo and Modi on April 25, 2011.
Modo Modi 26th SEA Games Mascot in Indonesia 2011 is an animal native to Indonesia, Komodo which is the largest lizard in the world. Komodo live on Komodo Island which is located in East Nusa Tenggara, is the only island in the world inhabited by komodo who was mentioned as relatives of ancient creatures, dinosaurs. Komodo National Park Authority noted the current population of Komodo live on this island about 1,200 tails with a ratio of three males, one female.

Komodo Island to be nominated wonders of the world by new7wonders. For this reason, the Komodo was chosen as Modo Modi 26th SEA Games Mascot in Indonesia 2011. This is the pride of Indonesia, especially for the province of East Nusa Tenggara.
Modo Modi doll has a unique character. Modo is a male Komodo, dressed in green and white batik sarong with a brown complexion. While Modi is a female Komodo with a yellow complexion, wearing batik skirts and scarves batik. Modo Modi doll image can be seen in the picture above.
Hopefully Modo Modi 26th SEA Games Mascot in Indonesia 2011 will truly be the pride of all for Indonesia. Yay!
